Ballston is a town in Saratoga County, New York. The region was first settled around 1763, and in 1775 the area became a district in Albany County. Ballston was recognized as a town by the State of New York in 1788 and was transferred to the new county of Saratoga in 1791. The southern part of the county seat village, Ballston Spa, is located in Ballston Town.
